What makes the difference between high-performing, mediocre and under-performing work teams? Is it about achieving goals, tasks and results or about motivating people to unleash their performance and potential as a team?
This programme enables leaders, managers and supervisors to acquire the know-how and skill sets to manage and develop their teams to achieve the goals, tasks and results of the organisation and also foster team cohesiveness and collaboration through synergistic team dynamics and social relationships.

- Participants will complete the questionnaire at least 2 weeks before the programme to understand their learning needs and the types of challenges they face in leading and managing their teams.
- The learning needs analyses from the participants will be used for case studies and scenarios that are meant for group discussions and role plays.
Objective
By the end of the programme, officers will be able to:
- Demonstrate cooperative behaviour that contributes to team effectiveness.
- Align individual actions with team goals and mission success.
- Communicate respectfully and constructively, even in disagreement.
- Manage and resolve conflicts effectively within teams.

- Reflection: What makes a team function effectively?
- Identify the 4 success factors of a high-performing team: the GRIP Framework:
- Goal: Shared purpose and clear mission
- Roles: Defined responsibilities and accountability
- Interpersonal Relationships: Mutual trust and respect
- Processes: Coordination, communication, and feedback mechanisms

- Align individual aspirations, goals and roles to team objectives
- Identify how to set mutually agreed team goals aligned to SPF mission and operational priorities
- Create a Team Charter including team’s purpose, key outcomes, values, norms and ground rules for effective team functioning and performance

- Discover our personality differences and working styles using a DISC profile
- Identify our strengths towards team role diversity and team co-operation and build an effective team
- Apply a roles matrix based on our DISC strengths build an effective team

Session 4: Interpersonal Relationships and Conflict Resolution
- Explore principles of psychological safety for mutual trust and open communication
- Apply conflict management and conflict resolution techniques in teams
- Practice effective feedback delivery using SBI model (Situation–Behaviour–Impact) to foster learning and accountability
- Enhance team learning and team collaboration through effective team briefing
4.15-5.00 PM (45 mins)-Team Reflection and Action Planning
- Recap key insights from GRIP model and SPF teamwork applications
- Reflect on: “What will I start doing to strengthen my team?”
- Each participant or each team shares one commitment statement to reinforce post-course application

Profile of Jasmine Liew
Jasmine Liew Chia Wei , was a former seasoned Human Resource leader with over two decades of experience. Presently, she is the Founder and Chief Organisation Development Strategist at Breakthrough Catalyst and a Doctorate Candidate at the University of Canberra.
Her extensive career spans diverse sectors, including the Singapore Civil Service, Multi-national Companies and the Private Sector. In her past roles as the Head of Organisation Learning and Development Department, Jasmine was instrumental in implementing and sustaining organisational culture, driving organisational changes through leadership development and organisation development solutions and enhancing employee engagement.

Jasmine's doctoral research at the University of Canberra centres on the role of psychological safety in the effective implementation of change initiatives, which include the upskilling of a mature workforce in digital skills. Jasmine was the only Singaporean doctorate candidate at the University of Canberra presenting her research at the Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2025, the world's premier conference of global management and organisation scholars.
Jasmine is the first global batch and the first Singapore practitioner to be certified in Team Psychological Safety, under The Fearless Organisation, by Prof Amy Edmondson from Harvard University. Jasmine also collaborated with the Ministry of Education, The Academy of Principal Singapore, Ministry of Home Affairs and organisations in Public Service sector by conducting contextualised psychological safety workshops to build a high performing and innovative team among leadership teams and their teams.
Jasmine have contributed her thought leadership and experiences through interviews with Radio 938, The Straits Times, Channel News Asia, The Business Times, Human Resource Management Asia and The New Paper.
