    With the recent changes in the GST regime in Singapore, many GST traders and accountants may lack the knowledge of GST impact on importing services and are still making many mistakes. This seminar aims to provide participants with the basic knowledge on GST concepts as well as the rules and regulations in Singapore. It will also help them avoid potential pitfalls and appreciate the potential GST issues that will accompany almost every business transaction. The penalties for not getting GST right can be costly to businesses and hence should not be ignored.

    Alton Neo's Profile
    Alton Neo is a distinguished finance professional with extensive experience in corporate leadership, financial management, and education. He is currently teaching with SUSS and working closely with the accounting industry to train the next generation of aspiring accountants and equipping them with new skillsets to take on new challenges.

    In his most recent tenure, Alton served as the Deputy CEO of InCorp Global's Singapore operations, where he oversees the entire Singapore's operations in particular, advisory and outsourcing services. In this role, he provides expertise in management reporting, corporate restructuring, business valuation, insolvency, and forensic accounting. Prior to being the Deputy CEO of InCorp Singapore, Alton was also instrumental in completing 8 M&A acquisitions both locally and regionally in 2 years as the Group COO.

    Before his tenure at InCorp Global, Alton contributed to the Ministry of Finance as a Tax Policy Associate, focusing on the development and review of tax incentives. He was also part of the pioneer team at the Singapore Accountancy Commission (now ACRA) that developed the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualification Programme.

    In addition to his corporate roles, Alton is dedicated to education. He has developed and taught courses in financial accounting and related subjects at leading tertiary institutions. Currently, he serves as a part-time tutor at the London School of Business & Finance in Singapore and Singapore University of Social Sciences.

    Alton holds an honors degree in Accountancy from Nanyang Technological University, an Executive MBA from the University of Hull, and has completed the Chartered Valuer and Appraiser program by the Institute of Valuers and Appraisers, Singapore. He is also a Chartered Accountant of Singapore. Beyond his professional commitments, Alton serves as the Vice President of the NTU Alumni Club and volunteers as a reviewer for Empact Pte Ltd. He is passionate about promoting financial literacy and collaborates with various organizations to develop training materials for students and educators.
