    This 1-day workshop equips participants with practical tools and techniques to plan, record, and write clear and actionable Minutes. In addition to traditional skills, you will learn how to use AI-powered tools to enhance note-taking accuracy, summarization, and formatting efficiency.

    Unit 1 Before the Meeting
    • Purpose of Minutes: Understand why Minutes are important in organizational
      decision-making.
    • Problems of the Minute Taker: Highlight common minute-taking difficulties and
      explore both traditional and AI-supported solutions (e.g., AI templates, checklists).
    • Formats of Minutes: Identify different standard formats
    • The Agenda: Use the agenda to prepare

    Unit 2 During the Meeting
    • Note-taking Techniques: Identify various note-taking methods, integrating AI-
      powered transcription and note capture applications.
    • Listening and Summarizing: Strategies for improving human listening skills

    Unit 3 After the Meeting
    • Writing the Minutes: Present clear, well-structured information
    • Reported Speech: Write accurately using both manual skills and AI grammar/style checkers.
    • Dealing with the Tenses: Practice writing in appropriate past tenses, including checking tense consistency with AI assist tools.
    • A Checklist: Review a Minutes writing checklist, including AI tools for final proofreading and quality assurance.

    Emma Jarman-Jones's Profile
    Emma Jarman-Jones specialises in developing and enhancing workplace communication skills. This work includes writing, speaking, interpersonal and management skills training. She has over 20 years experience training in Singapore, as well as regionally in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam.

    Emma has worked as an external consultant and trainer with both private and public sectors, designing, customising and delivering programs, and coaching individuals. She believes in the potential of every person and is dedicated to providing the highest quality of training that will benefit the individual, as well as the organisation. She has worked with companies such as StarHub, SingTel, BASF South East Asia, BASF Vietnam and Malaysia, DBS Bank, Nokia, Carlton Hotel and The British Club.

    Emma holds an MBA from Imperial College, London. She has also completed a Diploma in Human Resource Development at the Singapore Institute of Management and is a certified People Developer Consultant. She is also TESOL-certified through the London Teacher Training College.
