1-Day Effective Presentation Creation & Visual Storyboarding with CoPilot & AI
Creating clear and persuasive presentations today is no longer just about slide design skills — it is about how effectively ideas are shaped, structured, and communicated, with AI used thoughtfully to support the process. As AI tools become embedded in everyday workflows, professionals must learn how to harness them to clarify intent, structure narratives, and accelerate visual execution without sacrificing meaning or quality.
This intensive 1-day workshop equips participants with a practical, design-led framework for building presentations that communicate with clarity and purpose, while responsibly integrating AI-assisted tools such as PowerPoint Copilot and generative AI. Participants will learn how to define presentation intent, shape a narrative based on the type of deck they are creating, and structure content to reduce cognitive overload. AI tools are introduced as thinking and productivity aids — supporting ideation, outlining, and visual exploration — rather than as substitutes for sound design judgement.
Through guided exercises, participants will apply visual storyboarding techniques to plan how text, visuals, and data are packaged within each slide, forming cohesive “cognitive collages” instead of fragmented content. They will also use core visual hierarchy and layout principles, supported by AI-assisted suggestions where appropriate, to design slides that are scannable, engaging, and message-driven.
By the end of the session, participants will walk away with a repeatable, AI-enabled workflow for planning and designing presentations — from intent and narrative to structure and visual execution — and a short, story-driven presentation deck that demonstrates clarity, consistency, and purposeful visual communication.
Pre-requisites
Participants should bring a laptop with PowerPoint or Office 365 installed, along with a mouse for ease of design work. Having Microsoft Co-Pilot for Office is recommended for best results but is not mandatory. Participants using corporate laptops are encouraged to check organisational guidelines on the use of AI tools to ensure that they can use ChatGPT or Gemini for this session.
A basic understanding of PowerPoint is recommended to get the most out of this course. Prior knowledge of data visualization concepts is helpful but not mandatory.

Objective
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Analyse the presentation’s purpose, target audience, and desired outcome, using AI-assisted tools where appropriate to clarify intent and articulate a focused core message.
- Select and apply an appropriate narrative structure based on presentation type, leveraging AI tools to support outlining and content framing while maintaining narrative coherence.
- Organise and sequence content into logical, audience-friendly chunks, using AI to generate content visualization guidelines according to viewer demographics to critically reduce cognitive overload and improve clarity.
- Develop a visual storyboard that defines slide intent and content composition, integrating text, visuals, and data into cohesive, information-rich slides.
- Apply visual hierarchy principles—such as alignment, spacing, contrast, and scale—to design slides that are clear, scannable, and visually engaging.
- Create a concise, story-driven presentation deck that demonstrates clarity, consistency, and alignment between intent, narrative, structure, and visual design.
