    Email marketing and digital campaigns remain powerful storytelling tools — but what truly sets a campaign apart is design that converts. Beyond catchy subject lines or vibrant visuals lies the challenge of consistency, clarity, and creativity at speed.

    This 2-day hands-on workshop empowers participants to design high-impact EDMs and marketing materials using Canva and AI-powered tools. Learners will discover how to create, format, and optimize branded assets — from email templates to banners and social posts — that maintain visual integrity while leveraging automation for smarter design workflows.

    Through practical exercises and guided walkthroughs, participants will learn to pair data-driven insights with AI-assisted creativity, crafting visuals that not only capture attention but also drive measurable engagement across marketing channels.

    Pre-requisites
    • Participants should bring a Wi-Fi-enabled laptop with Canva (free or Pro) access and ensure that they have internet and email access during the workshop for AI-tool integration. Participants should also bring a charger and a mouse for precise design control. Note that this is a laptop-only workshop — not optimized for tablets or smartphones.
    Objective
    By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

    1. Leverage Canva’s AI-powered design tools to conceptualize and structure visually cohesive marketing materials.

    2. Apply brand guidelines using the Canva Brand Kit to ensure message consistency across EDMs, banners, and social posts.

    3. Utilize AI content-generation tools (e.g., Magic Write, ChatGPT) for marketing copy, content summaries, and visual ideation.

    4. Design compelling EDM layouts optimized for readability, conversion, and aesthetic balance.

    5. Visualize text-heavy or data-driven content using charts, infographics, and structured layouts.

    6. Analyze CTA placement, color psychology, and layout patterns to improve engagement rates.

    7. Refine AI-generated content for tone, clarity, and branding accuracy.

    8. Export and optimize designs across platforms — from email clients to social and print — ensuring quality and compatibility.

    Module 1: Foundations of Effective EDM & Marketing Design
    • Explore current design trends and engagement benchmarks for EDMs.

    Module 2: Setting Up Canva for Multi-Platform Marketing
    • Configure Canva workspaces for EDMs, banners, and social formats.
    • Manage grids, margins, and bleeds for consistent formatting.
    • Apply export settings for digital and print channels.


    Module 3: Branding, Consistency & Canva Brand Kit
    • Implement corporate guidelines with Canva’s Brand Kit tools.
    • Customize templates while maintaining brand authenticity.
    • Ensure cohesive messaging across multiple campaign assets.


    Module 4: Harnessing AI for Marketing Content & Layout
    • Generate ideas, headlines, and campaign messages using Magic Write or ChatGPT.
    • Explore AI-driven design suggestions (Magic Design, Layout Generator).
    • Integrate AI visuals ethically, ensuring brand and message alignment.


    Module 5: Formatting & Visualizing Text and Data
    • Translate long or data-heavy text into easy-to-read infographic layouts.
    • Create charts, graphs, and hybrid visuals in Canva.
    • Combine visuals and data storytelling for audience impact.


    Module 6: Designing EDMs & Marketing Materials
    • Build an EDM or marketing asset from scratch or template.
    • Align hierarchy, contrast, and spacing for visual flow.
    • Adapt layouts for desktop, mobile, and responsive previews.


    Module 7: Proofreading & Quality Control
    • Use AI grammar tools to check copy tone and accuracy.
    • Review visual consistency, spacing, and text alignment.
    • Apply accessibility checks for readability and contrast.


    Module 8: Exporting & Optimizing for Distribution
    • Export files for different EDM platforms (Mailchimp, Gmail, Outlook).
    • Adjust resolution and compression for performance and clarity.
    • Test rendering across devices and channels.
