Master the Essential Thinking Traits Needed to Stay Relevant and Thrive in the Digital Age by Learning How to Apply Powerful New 'Mind-Skills'

What cognitive skills are required to be successful in the New Age? How will we add value to the future of work? What new thinking should we adopt? The Digital Age is characterised by a strong need to move faster, focus intensely on customer experience and design highly innovative products, services and processes. Yet much of the world still operates on fundamental patterns of thinking that are largely a by-product of the Industrial Age. This ‘Industrial Age Thinking’ is an inhibitor to meeting the new realities of a new age, such as becoming more nimble, dynamic and innovative. To be successful in the New Age we need to adopt New Thinking. Start your journey to becoming a ‘Master Thinker’ for improved success in everything you do, personally and professionally.
    Objective
Understand at a fundamental level the new thinking traits that we should adopt to keep up and thrive in the new age. Once these core thinking modes are embraced at a deep enough level, anyone can apply them anywhere to attain success in the Digital Age: The achievement of Sustainable Excellence, Innovation, Speed and Agility through Curiosity, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Experimentation, Risk-Taking, Collaboration, Human-Centricity and other thinking traits. You will be equipped with a suite of these ‘mind-skills’ that will help you think your way through many of the challenges of the modern era. These are soft skills, not hard skills, and thus cannot be automated away, providing you with a perpetual, advanced level of thinking that you can use for the rest of your career and life.
    Outline
    Welcome to the Digital Age
    - How current organisational practices have lagged behind technological progress, societal trends and geo-economic realities
    - Key pitfalls of the antiquated thinking traits and practices that are still largely entrenched in current organisational culture, structure, operating ways and people development approaches
    - Brief historical context and comparison between ‘Industrial-Age Thinking’ and 'Digital-Age Thinking'

    The Future of Work
A brief discussion on trends in terms of roles in the Digital Age. We will explore visions of where the world is heading in terms of the work to be done. How do these changes map to the essential skills we need to be successful?

Essential Thinking Traits for the Digital Age
Point-by-point review of each of the essential thinking traits required to be successful in an Industrial 4.0 world. Each thinking trait contains several ‘mind-skills’ that can be learned and practiced by participants. Current knowledge on each topic will be presented and discussed. Examples and Exercises will be applied to reinforce the critical concepts behind each skillset, and demonstrate why each one is so essential in the new world. Open discussions in small teams will be facilitated in order to share views, perspectives and experiences.
(Note: This section is an overview of the Essential Thinking Traits – each is also available as a standalone course for more in-depth learning)

    Assessment and Conclusion
A Self-Assessment will be provided so that participants can self-rate their current status in terms of realisation of the Essential Thinking Traits for the Digital-Age. Results will be shared in an intimate, small team format for an honest and deep discussion on organisational habits to reinforce versus ones that need changing or even transforming. Methods for continuous follow-up and learning will be recommended, including further coursework, reading, and other developmental ways. As a conclusion, key points for the your future journey will be presented for final thoughts.
    Who should attend
This course is aimed broadly at staff and professionals who are proactive in nature and wish to be on the leading edge of their personal and organisational journeys towards success in the digital age.
